Mark Godfrey is an independent curator and art historian based in London. Recent projects include exhibitions of the work of Laura Owens (Fondation Vincent van Gogh, 2021) and Jacqueline Humphries (Wexner Center for the Arts, 2021–22), and recent publications include essays on Firelei Báez, Kevin Beasley, Petrit Halilaj, and Faith Ringgold. From 2007 to 2021, he was Senior Curator at Tate Modern, where he curated or co-curated several exhibitions, including Alibis: Sigmar Polke, 1963–2010 (2014–15), Soul of a Nation: Art in the Age of Black Power (2017), and Franz West (2019). He has published two books with Yale University Press, Alighiero e Boetti (2013) and Abstraction and the Holocaust (2007).
